I would suggest checking out Ken Rockwell for some photography equiptment hints. My advice on what you need:I'll say this at the beginning hoping that you'll remember this at the end (you won't). As you look at your finances and think about where you want to spend your money, you should put your money in your lenses. Wait, you mean don't spend it on the camera body? Yes, that is exactly what I mean. As you look at quality lenses you'll begin to see a pattern. Those used guys that you would think would go down in price (because they are used), don't. They are many years old and selling for pretty close to what they cost new. And, just to prove my point - there are some lenses that sell for more than they were new. That said, I'm a nikon guy.
